Caring for Your Drinking HornUpdated 4 hours ago
š« Dishwasher Use
Your drinking horn is not dishwasher safe. While the Norsemen didnāt have dishwashers (and might laugh at the idea), the modern reality is that the heat and detergents can damage your horn. Always wash it by hand.
ā Hot Beverages
Avoid using your drinking horn for hot drinks like coffee or tea. Horns can warp when exposed to high temperatures. If you love hot beverages, we also have a drinking horn specially designed for hot liquids. You can check it out here: horn-coffee-mug
šŖ„ Cleaning Instructions
Before your first use, wash your horn with cool water, mild soap, and a soft sponge or brush. Repeat after each use.
For a deeper clean, fill the horn with warm (not hot) water and add a small amount of bleach or vinegar. Let it sit for 4ā5 hours, then wash again with mild soap and cool water before using.
š Removing Odors
If your horn has a strong natural smell, try the warm water and bleach/vinegar soak mentioned above. Afterwards, rub lemon peels or apply a few drops of essential lemon oil to the inside of the horn, letting it sit for another 4ā5 hours before rinsing and washing.
