Why doesn’t my horn look exactly like the picture?Updated 2 hours ago
Every Norse Tradesman horn is crafted from genuine, ethically sourced ox horn. Because it’s a natural material, no two horns are ever the same. The photos on our website show an example of the product, but your horn will have its own unique colors, streaks, patterns, shape, and size. Just like the Vikings who carried them, every horn has its own character!
🎨 Light vs. Dark: What’s the Difference?
We sort our horns into two color categories based on their dominant, overall color. Since horns are natural, no horn is ever one solid color, so here’s what to expect:
☀️ Light Horn
A Light horn is mostly light on the outside, in shades like cream, ivory, honey, or tan.
👉 It’s completely normal for a Light horn to have some darker shadows, streaks, or patches, especially near the tip.
🌑 Dark Horn
A Dark horn is mostly dark on the outside, in shades like deep brown, charcoal, or near-black.
👉 It’s completely normal for a Dark horn to have some lighter streaks, flecks, or bands running through it.
✨ Simple rule: If most of the outside is light, it’s sorted as a Light horn. If most of the outside is dark, it’s sorted as a Dark horn.
🌿 Natural Streaks & Patterns
Every horn, light or dark, carries its own natural streaks, marbling, and patterns. These aren’t flaws. They’re nature’s fingerprint, and they’re what make your horn truly one of a kind. 🍃
You may also notice that colors look slightly different in person due to lighting, screen settings, or the polish finish you selected.
🛡️ Something Not Right?
Natural variations in color, pattern, and size are expected. But if your horn arrives cracked, leaking, damaged, or in the wrong color category, please contact us with your order number and a photo. We’ll gladly make it right!
Raise your one-of-a-kind horn with pride. Skål! 🍻
